All About Me

Hello there !

My name is Liza and I am the owner of I Want Vintage.

First of all thank you for stopping by, I really hope you find something you like 😊

I studied Visual Art @ Waterford Institute of Technology and went on to complete the Professional Masters in Education @ University College Cork. I had hoped that my decision to return to education as a mature student would inevitably get me a job as a post primary teacher. Unfortunatly that was not going to be as easy as I thought.

Realising | wouldn't be walking into a full time teaching post with all the trim I had to reassess where my path was taking me. At this stage I was married four years and hoped to be starting a family, buying a home and all the other really grown up things that people do. My reality was a little different as part time substitute teacher working in four different schools. This new obstacle proved to be the best kind as this is where I came up with the idea for my first business, The Urban Fox. Just as this business was about to thrive and grow ... Covid-19 showed up. The Urban Fox was put to one side, for now at least.

Time to put my thinking cap back on

Fashion had always been an interest of mine along with living a sustainable and eco friendly as possible life style. With Covid-19 here to stay, there was a lot of uncertainty around opening any new business. This is why I made the decision to only open online, for now.

Our world is in dissaray and the fast fashion industry is manipulating people to buy more and more throw away products. I believe that everyone should do their bit and help protect our only home.

It is this belief that brought me to my new business, I Want Vintage.

Backed as usual by my ever supportive husband I began to research and developed this website. After 6 months of hardwork I sourced the best Vintage Clothes suppliers across Europe and handpicked each and every item you see in my shop.

I am now working from my new studio in Co. Wexford & could not be happier.
